Well, okay, two years. technically. but to Cubs fans, the two years since the "almost" World Series appearance must seem like just a blink of the eye... compared to the 95 year wait they endured before that... My point though isn't really about the Cubs. It's about the city of Chicago. and what a difference 24 months can make... like a big pendulum, this city, swinging from one extreme to the other. Ain't it fun?
I personally hope for a better ending to this NL Conference series than two years ago in the AL.(Above: 2003 Cubs celebrate after beating the Braves for the ALDS title... only to crash and burn in the 7th game of the ALCS.)
(Left: 2005 White Sox celebrate after sweeping the defending World Series champs Friday night in Boston. Now they have the chance to break their own curse... or to fortify the myth of cursed Chicago teams even more...)
